Freedom's Kids Clubs

Recommended Posts

Hello! I just discovered this forum today in my very very early planning stages of my family's first cruise. I have cruised twice before on RCCL, but would now like to take my 2 girls along to enjoy the experience as well! That said, we will have 2 girls, 7 and 5 at the time of our cruise. I am thinking we may try out Freedom of the Seas.

I understand that The kids clubs groups are for 3-5 year olds and then 6-8 year olds. My girls would have to be in different clubs according to the age categories. They enjoy playing together and hanging out, and simply knowing another familiar face in the crowd is comforting too. Do you think they would allow my 5 year 8 month old in the older group of 6-8 year olds?? Thanks for any tips or shared experiences with the RC's kids clubs.

I believe it depends upon the number of kids on board at the time - you can always ask. That being said, my kids are 18 month apart in age and have been in separate groups each and every cruise. They still see each other a lot throughout the day - and it has never been an issue.

Not usually. They have been willing to move one child back a group, but are less likely to move the other up.

Just prepare the kids that they WILL be in different rooms. Then if the counselors allow it, then it will be a bonus. :D

My kids are always in different kids camps. Never had a problem with it. They make their own friends.

I can tell you that on Freedom, the 3-5 and 6-8 group are literally divided by a mesh net. So they CAN see each other while in AO. Also, that group gets together to do certain things. Their formal night dinner at Johnny Rockets is together. "Snack Attack" is sometimes together. Pirate Parade - together. Talent Show - together. And the Circus/circus parade, also together.

So it's not like they will be totally separated. But at least they can physically see each other if they want, while still making their own friends.:D

The kids club pages are in my signature. You can see the events for Freedom because we were on it.

Just got back from Majesty of the Seas. We took our grandaughter. She is 12. Had a hard time holding her down. At that age she thinks she is "grown up".

How do the others of you do it?

She talked us into a midnight curfew the last night. I stayed up an had to go upstairs and escort her back to the room! Of course she wanted to stay and be with her friends.

Maybe I worry too much - but we took control.

Wife said, "never again!" Next year she will be a year older. "LOOK OUT! L.O.L.

I want to take her again. She never really has the opportunity to do anything.

One thing about a three day cruise it was less time for here to "get loose".

So anyone taking your kids. Keep and eye on then and good luck. A ship is no place for kids to be running around after midnight.

P.S. We loved Coco Cay and went to the water park in Atlantis. We got day passes and room from Comfort Suites.

Expensive - but worth the price. Atlantis is a "hoot"!

Hi Cruisinmama06!

Just wondering how you get the fancy slideshow of your pics? All of mine are in my signature and huge to boot! Thanks for your help!

I used an animation program that I have in my computer. So I wish I could just give you a web site...but it's not that easy. :(

Maybe photobucket slide show? I think that slideshow was kind of big on here though.

You have beautiful pictures though! Do you have any photoshop or photo editing programs in your computer? You could reduce the size and make them all the same size and put them side by side...kind of like this...

Hey Cruisinmama!

Thanks so much! I can tell from the time log in you actually only took a minute to do this, which means you are quite the computer gal!

Your photos are great too (it's easy when we have such cute little subjects to work with :D !)

Thanks again!
