no fuel supplement refund?

Recommended Posts

Royal Caribbean doesn't refund the fuel supplement when a booking is canceled (within the penalty phase). So if you are in 50% penalty, they keep 50% of the fuel supplement. If you are in 100% penalty, they keep all of the fuel supplement. This doesn't seem right. Someone cancels and doesn't go on their cruise and they still have to pay the fuel supplement... Does this sound right to you? RCI will likely rebook the stateroom and charge the new booking the fuel supplement too. I know they do this with port charges (non-commissionable) as they are also non-refundable once you're in penalty. Just wondering what others think.

I agree with Sue............at that late date, it is questionable if they will sell your cabin......but even if they did, it is a penalty on all charges. May not seem right but that is the way it is these days.
