Viking - City of Lights - Paris to Prague Info

Has anyone taken this cruise? How was the ship? Also did you find the tours were good? Do you have any experience with the Paris accommodations, Le Meridien Montparnasse? TripAdvisor has some bad reviews. We are scheduled to sail the end of August.

I did a search on CC for the hotel. Sounded good to me.

My experience with Viking has been VERY POSITIVE. Just booked another cruise with them.

Viking is great!!! Just got back, will do it again! We did Vienna to Amsterdam, but did several of the same towns as you will do. The tour guides were great, very knowledgeable! Try to eat a meal in Rudesheim, we wish we had, there were some great looking restaurants there. Nuremberg, Bamberg Wurzburg, Cochem & Koblenz were all on our itinerary as well. These towns were all great! Although, we did the optional Marksburg Castle and did not actually get to go into town in Koblenz.

 

If you stay in town in Nuremberg after the tour, you will need a taxi to get back! It was well worth staying after the tour!!

Thanks GrannyLala and Coasters, we were hoping to forgo some meals on the ship to experience some local restaurants. Were there any tours you would have sacrificed to have more time in town? This is our first river cruise. Normally we are independent travelers on our trips. It should be a new fun experience. Thanks again.
