2009 Nile Cruise - Esna Lock Closing

In looking at the 2009 Nile cruise schedules I have seen more than one with notes on them like "Esna Lock closing will be announced later" or otherwise suggesting that the Esna lock will be closed at some point during the year. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether this is an annual occurrence (and if so, what time of year it usually occurs) or what exactly will be occuring with the lock (repairs? duration thereof?)? We'd just like to avoid any issues if we can.

Thank you for the help... the extra hour or so on the tour bus to Luxor is definitely something we'll try to avoid!
