What is "not to be missed" at Atlantis?

I was on the Atlantis website and looked at the map. The place looks huge! What are some things that shouldn't be missed? The lazy river looks about my speed! A few different lagoons are on the map. What do you do at the lagoon? Is there someplace to snorkel? I am also wondering with all the water activites will there be time to enjoy the beach? We are 2 adults so I am not looking for kid activities. We'll have about 5 hours while the slides are open and maybe an additional hour before the slides open.

Thanks for any input!

Unless you are into the water park/slides etc, the entry pass is a bit expensive for a loll on the lazy river and some beach time (since you can go to the beach next door for free).

The main lagoon is pretty lame, it's manmade and can get murky, some of the other lagoons are filled with sharks, stingrays, turtles etc.. so nice for viewing.

The Dolphins Cay lagoon and beach are not included in your access pass.

There is no real snorkeling on the premises, although they rent gear for use, but you won't find much to see. There's a Paid tour which is also a bit lame, since it's a reef education tour, with limited snorkeling in a cove that has not yet been matured after construction.

Unless you hubby is a slide freak - I'd walk around the casino and marina village and then head to the public beach.. The cost is $8 as opposed to $300 plus.

I am willing to go on the water slides. It looks like there is so much to do and I don't want to meet someone on the ship later who asks if we tried such and such on the ship and our reply is, "no we never saw that". I don't care if we don't spend anytime on the beach since we have another port for that. How do you view the lagoons? I wouldn't think you'd swim with the sharks?! It will cost us $200 to go to Atlantis so I am trying to decide if it's worth it.

As has been said, there is plenty to do at Atlantis without spending too much. It is such a big place- plenty of things to see in a few hours. You can spend a minimum to go to the Aquarium (we thought it was worth the $30) and then explore the grounds and see just about everything there. The pools don't seem worth $100 pp- especially with such nice beaches nearby.

If you enjoy water slides then it is worth it, as you can tour the aquarium as well. You must not miss the lazy river, they have a section that is not so lazy, like white water rafting, milder of course, but lift your rear! Its big, but its quite lovely, the food is pricey though.
