East Caribbean first cruise itenerary

Recommended Posts

Hi. Help. I am close to putting a deposit on a cruise. Never been on one before. My wife and I are 40, our son, an atheletic 12.

Our (possible)itenenary includes,

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas,

Phillipsburgh, St Maarten,

and Labadee, Haiti.

Does this sound like a good cruise for our first time? They still have a balcony room, portside, down low in the middle of the ship and our side will be facing the majority of the islands. This will be in the second week of March.

We are looking at the Independence Of The Seas. It looks like a fun ship.

Sound good?

Thank you.

Sounds like a good first cruise to me. Good ports with lots to do and see, good shopping and a good time of year also. Your son will not be at a lack for things to do either. Have a great time!

Sounds like fun! That's a good mix of ports of call. San Juan has lots of history, Charlotte Amalie has interesting shopping, and your son will have a ball on Labadee, a private beach with loads of water sports and activities.

You'll LOVE a balcony cabin! I've never stayed on one down low but midships and lower down are less prone to feeling the movement of the ship if you're not sure about seasickness.

Enjoy!

It sounds great. Especially as a first timer, you will love the islands. Labadee is a wonderful relaxing beach day. There are lots of lounge chairs on the beach. Lunch is served on the island. You will be able to rent a mat (with just your Sea Pass card) for floating in the water and equipment for some water sports. By the way, the Sea Pass card is for their cashless system. It is your cabin key and your charge card for everything on the ship. Cash is not accepted anywhere except in the casino.

Your 12 year old will love the Adventure Ocean program. They do a great job with the kids. There will be plenty to keep him busy on Independence.

The cabinn location is perfect. You will feel the least amount of motion where that cabin is located. Actually, on a ship of the size of Independence and the great stabilizers, there's a good chance that you will hardly realize you are on the ocean.

Have a great time and feel free to ask any other questions that come up.

Hello! We are sailing on the Indy in Nov. Our sons ages are 13 & 16. We have sailed Western once and this will be our second sailing to the Eastern Car. We prefer this intinerary. The islands are beautiful! We have sailed Disney twice, but thought the kids would enjoy all the activities the Indy has to offer. Go to Member Reviews and read some of the Indy reviews. It sounds Fabulous! Can't wait:D

Sounds like a great choice for a first cruise. You will love it!

Are you coming from British Columbia? The major piece of advice being given on these boards now is to arrive at least a day before you sail.
