Hi Everyone-

We are so interested in doing a tour to Yelapa. It looks wonderful and picture perfect. I am finding a hard time finding reviews. The ones, I have seen are real basic and not that many. Any reviews and reccomendations would be greatly appreciated. Carnival offers the Discover Yelapa Tour.

Thank you,

I'll try to help! Yelapa is very small in size, it's quaint and quite nice, you can only get there by boat. There are lots of places to eat and a "must have" is the lemon merange pie that has merange about 8" high, they have been making it there for years.

We were there 30 years ago when the toilets were a hole in the ground and no electricity but it has come along way from then.

I don't know how long your in port for but you can take a water taxi from the prier in old town which you can take the "centro" bus to get to the prier.

The bus ride from cruise prier would be 20 to 30 min, then a 15 min walk to the prier and the water taxi's to Yelapa are quite regular.

The other solution is to take one of the many boat tours that have lunch and booze included which we don't do as we really don't'' drink. But I can tell you these excursions are quite popular and there are many boats that do the run.

However way you get there you won't be dissappointed, it's a beautiful beach and you may even see whales and dolphins.

I was there this past January I have a friend who's daughter lives there and is co owner of one of the restuarants. She has lived there for about 10 yrs, she also teaches. I don't know how she does it, its too quiet for me but it's a beautiful spot to visit.

If you take the private water taxis and not an excursion make sure they have enough life vests. Just a precaution.
