Sydney must see's?

Recommended Posts

we look for unique photo ops on our travels, and am looking forward to the big fiddle in Sydney.... but can anyone explain its relavence (sp?) and connection to Sydney. Also how far can I expect to have to trek from the dock to find it?

Thanks for your help, (you NS locals are the best;) )

I'm no expert but....."Nova Scotia" means "New Scotland". One part of Nova Scotia in particular, Cape Breton island has a strong Scottish and Celtic heritage including fiddle music. Music is a big part of that heritage. There is no specific connection to Sydney other than it's the unofficial capital of Cape Breton. In fact, most of the Celtic music would be in the outlying areas away from Sydney.

Regarding how to find the "fiddle", you can't miss it. It is right on the dock and is VERY large.
