jodiedew Posted August 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2008 Can anyone familiar with Old San Juan recommend a restaurant for a group of 25-30 people for dinner on a Friday evening? I'm trying to keep it around $30-$35 per person (including drinks) with vegetarian options available, but it's hard to plan from so far away. I'm trying to organize a group dinner before our November cruise!
rainforestgirl Posted August 13, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2008 That is a large group....and that price is a little low for OSJ...... My suggestion would be try Barrachina. (definitely call them and check that they can accommodate you, can make special vegatarian dishes and get reservation for the show). It is not my favorite place to eat, but it is good and it is a big enough place, and on Friday night, they have a dance show at 8p-9p. It should be a nice start to a vacation. for more info and a menu: http://www.barrachina.com/
Oaktree Posted August 14, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2008 Check this one: http://www.cafepuertorico.com. Not sure if it is big enough, but you could call. It is a great place. Also, post on the Tripadvisor's PR forum for help. Lots of local with know-how post on that board.
Aviator of the Seas Posted August 15, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2008 Check our Oof Restaurants. They have a variety of restaurants, many in proximity to each other. I often use them for my groups. Sometimes I divide them up between restaurants, and then they wander from one to the next as the locals do. They have restaurants under tropical, seafood, spanish tapas, thai, nuevo latino, and all sorts of other stuff. http://www.oofrestaurants.com/ There's also a large restaurant, not in Old San Juan but in nearby Condado, that's good for groups. It's upscale Puerto Rican cuisine. The name is Ajili-Mojili. http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-2770171-ajili_mojili_san_juan-i
Aviator of the Seas Posted August 15, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 15, 2008 "Check our Oof Restaurants" That should have read "check out Oof Restaurants". I have no interests in that operation, other than as a frequent customer.
