marian Posted April 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2004 Has anyone taken the Bermuda cruise out of New York? Is the voyage rough?
bermudashorts Posted April 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2004 We always go out of NY. It depends on the weather so its hard to say yes or no to the question.. Ive had smooth as glass seas and rougher than Id like seas. The atlantic is by nature going to be rougher than the caribbean. When were you planning on going? Chuck & Phyllis Posted April 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2004 This September, we will sail to Bermuda for the 10th time in the last 10 years. We have sailed during every month of the Bermuda season and have never had a rough sailing. Of course, that doesn't mean it doesn't happen but going by our experience, it doesn't happen very often. Robinob Posted April 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2004 We went last July out of NYC. We had one rough day. Actually night. I used the seasick patch behind my ear and we also had bonine. Neither of us were sick. Bermuda was beautiful. Konnie Posted April 13, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I am booked on this ship on 9-12-04 for Bermuda. Does anyone know if there is a video arcade room on this ship? Would appreciate any information on this. Thanks

Dolphins Posted April 13, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 13, 2004 Atlantic weather to Bermuda is usually pot luck. We had especially smooth sailing last August but the previous cruise had rough weather and the following week saw Hurricane Fabian hit Bermuda and divert cruises to New England. The big advantage is only one full sea day coming and going and you can't get sick going from Hamilton to St. George so seasickness is not a concern during your days in Bermuda. Unlike sailing from one Caribbean island to another each night on the open sea. We look forward to our 8 day cruise in October which gives us an extra day on the island. Thanks

I was on the Nordic Empress a few weeks ago and yes there was a video arcade on Deck 6 just off the casino. There were maybe a dozen games in it, but some were out of order. The ship however is basically going to have the interior rebuilt in the next month, and I don't know if there are any plans to relocate the arcade or remodel it. I think it would be safe to assume that they would keep an arcade as most all cruise ships have them. It is the height of hurricane season. But until last year we have never had a issue with one. Thanks Fabian..errrr Canada and Maine are not Bermuda. We went early last year, labor day weekend. I think it was the 4th. So its was about the same time as you would be going. That doesnt mean you will encounter a storm though. I think I heard they are predicting only 3 major storms this year.
