Helmet Dive or BOSS?

I've snorkeled before, but never tried either of these. Has anyone tried both and have a preference? Which one gives you more underwater time and which one lets you see the most? Thanks.

Personally I preferred the BOSS having done both. You can get around more because with the Helmet Dive you have to walk and it's slower going.

I agree the BOSS is probably better. We did it in Cozumel and it was fun. Check with the operator most of the BOSS tours allow you to snorkel in addition to your BOSS ride. The BOSS is fun, sort of an underwater moped, then Helmet dive is slow and sort of cumbersome. If you are up for it you should consider doing a Snuba or discover Scuba tour, you will probably enjoy that as well. Most people that enjoy snorkeling end up getting into scuba and the Caribbean is a great place to try it. Depending on what ship you are going on some even have scuba training on the ship during the days at sea.
