Hey Sharon! I feel bad for you guys...you are getting hit with some really cold weather up there. I talked to my best friend today who lives in Northern Minnesota and it was 25 degrees below zero last night.....can't even imagine that!!:eek: Kaitlyn's friend traveled to Indiana last night for a cheer competition and when they got off the plane, it was 17 degrees below zero..........a southern girl sure isn't use to that!:eek:

 

And....what about the plane that went down in the Hudson River....can't believe everyone survived!! What a mircale!! I think I would have freaked out when the pilot said, "Brace yourself for an impact!!":eek::eek:

 

Well, stay warm and I will try to check in over the weekend.....we were off today and again on Monday....nice long weekend! Have a GREAT weekend everyone!

 

Me, too! You all know I hate to fly! I haven't confirmed it yet but have heard that 40 or 50 onboard were employees of the company I work for - am just thankful everyone is ok.

Good morning Lifers!

 

Coffee is a bit late this morning - slept in since it's a holiday. :D DH got called into the "w" place - we had a dusting of snow last night. So little you can barely see it, but they wanted to make sure he was standing by with a snowplow. :rolleyes: He never manages to actually get the three day weekends in January and Feb. Hoping he won't have to stay all day - we were going to spend today running errands!:eek:

We didn't get enough snow in 10 square miles to fill a coffee cup. We sure have got screwed on the snow season here. We have got plenty of cold air, thats for sure. We had a lot of buses with ice in the fuel lines Friday. Kinda weird. Any pictures yet vacruizer??

Our screen door froze shut Saturday morning! It's been a long time since we've been this cold in VA. But very little snow at all - just those couple of little dustings.

If I got the price you had for that trip I think I would LOL. That was a great price. Wonder what the price of the Dream or the Pride will be like next January. Which ship do you like the Decor on better, Liberty or Glory?

Only at the Captain's party and past guest nights. That and on the Champagne Catamaran in St. Thomas - that was the dangerous one! Our bar bill was very small this time. :rolleyes::p Never really found a hang-out spot or people to socialize with on this cruise - we missed all you guys!

Liberty has the better decor but the Glory was still nice. It seemed a little boring decor wise. The Liberty was prettier. The Miracle is still my favorite for decor but I really like them all - I'm on a ship so I'm happy!

 

I saw the Miracle out of FLL next January on a 8 day - $709 balcony the other day. :eek: Haven't priced the Dream or Pride - I'm not sure the Pride will go far enough south to get really warm in January. The Bahamas were still in the 60s when we were there. But it's also nice to just drive to Baltimore and not fly!!!

I forgot the camera. We were on a smaller sailboat this time - the big one had been used for tours from the Splendor. But Johnny was our captain! He had gotten his captain's license and could now run on his own - he even remembered us and my scary ID losing incident! Different co-captain and bartender but still the same great excursion including the painkillers. :eek:

 

Did you see the post about the Champage Catamaran here - they apparently saved an elderly lady's life on the excursion last week. :D

Things have been a little chaotic here. My dear Lifer family, y'all saw me through this west coast relocation, and I may be on the move again. I am now among the unemployed. It has been a blessing in disguise since the ol w-place had gone a complete 180 from what it was back in July, by September I knew it wasn't a place for me. Soon as I was escorted out the door:rolleyes:, a great sense of relief came over me. At that point I knew the best thing ever had just happened. Now, it's time to see where my next adventure leads me. :D

 

Now, on to the important stuff. When the heck is carnival going release some prices to us!!!!!

Here's hoping something new and wonderful turns up soon! I've been in that situation as well - when they "eliminated my position" I was so relieved I didn't care if I was unemployed. And it all worked out for the best because I found a much better job!

mahwah -- I'm so glad the really really really cold spell is over! We are supposed to hit 50 by Friday. I want some snow!!!!

Pugs........what are your temps like in Tampa? All I know..its absolutely FREEZING over on this side!! The news is saying its 20 degrees with the wind chill factor!!:eek::eek: Tomorrow is suppose to be colder, I can't even imagine. We had to put the heat on in the house last night. The dog is even cold, he goes outside to do his thing and comes right back to the door.:p Kaitlyn called me from school today to make sure I was right there to pick her and a friend up at dismissal time because they were freezing and didn't want to walk too far in the cold!! Too funny. She has been bugging for us to send her to Minnesota to visit her godparents and for she can see snow....she would NEVER make it there....last week, it was 29 degrees below zero!:eek:

Maryland Lady.....glad to hear that you will be having a heat wave soon....50's thats warm considering what your temps have been lately. I spoke to my sister today, she is in NJ and it is 17 degrees there. I like it when it gets cold here...we don't have too many of those days. People say it doesn't get cold in Florida...YEAH RIGHT!!!:D

hello all, We have had more snow than I want for the rest of my life. we have had over 70 inches so far. Most of that came in a 7 day period. The record was 19 inches in 24 hours. I still have 5 foot snow berms on either side of my driveway. Over 30 roofs collapsed in this area from the amount of snow. Oh and current temp is 25 degrees and on its way down.

 

Sorry about the job loss BSQ, it is a tough time in retail right now, our store laid off about 14 people. And most of the rest got reduced hours. Wishing you good luck in finding something even better!
