Best Western Monte Carlo, Venice

For those that have stayed at this hotel, can you advise the best way to get there from the airport.

 

If by Vaporetta, what's the closest stop, and how easy is it to get to hotel with luggage.

You can either take a private water taxi (expensive, but so great coming into Venice this way), or the bus to Pizalle Roma and then the Vaporetto to San Marco.

 

Looking at the hotel website (http://www.venicehotelmontecarlo.it/dovesiamo-en.html), it looks like the nearest vaporetto stop is San Marco. There is one small bridge between there and San Marco Square. The following is from the website.

 

"Once in St. Mark Square go under the Torre dell'Orologio (Clock Tower) in direction Rialto, then turn right in Calle Larga San Marco and then left in Calle degli Specchieri. After a few steps you will get to hotel Montecarlo."

[Travel to Ports]

If your hotel if off St. Marks Square, you can take alilaguna (ferry, google it for web site) from Marco Polo directly to St. Marks Square, period. The ferry expects you to have luggage and will help you on and off with it.
