Sandytoes Posted August 30, 2008 #76 Share Posted August 30, 2008 Here is my BIG NEWS... last night in the Casino I went down to see if I would get the wild card spot in the slots tournament I played in earlier... while I was waiting for the draw I put 10bucks in the closest slot machine to where the tournament was going on - it was called 99 beers on the wall or something like that..,. immediately the machine went crazy... I hit Triple flaming 7, triple flaming 7, triple flaming 7 and the 6 X bonus reel... that is 6000 quarters....... $$1500.00 USD Yay! - there was a crowd of people there waiting for the wild card draw and the casino employee congratulated me over the loud speaker and everyone applauded :D Dinner tonight was Lobster tails and Scampi - the tail was the same size as the scampi, at first I thought they only gave me shrimp until I realized it was really a tail lol How true!!!! Tails aren't what they use to be. Sad - isn't it....tails so small. :( Hi Casshew - DING_DING_DING!!! Congrats!!! Way to go!!!! Guess that will cover your cruise bill.....;)...:D

WhereIBelong Posted August 30, 2008 #79 Share Posted August 30, 2008 You do not need to pre-reserve the shuttle to downtown Boston. A Princess rep will be waiting in the terminal. You just show them your card and sign for the cabin charge. Casshew was definitely right about the planes flying overhead - it was both amusing and intimidating during sailaway. Newport is a BEAUTIFUL harbor. Safe travels to all of you heading toward NYC!
Toto2Kansas Posted August 30, 2008 #80 Share Posted August 30, 2008 Cassie-Glad your enjoying your cruise and another BIG win in the casino. reggielew Posted August 30, 2008 #82 Share Posted August 30, 2008 Hi! Thanks, for the information about the Salem/Marblehead tour. I took my Brownie troop to the Witch Museum several years ago, and was disappointed in it at that time. When we drive through Salem, there are always many tourists at that museum, but I agree that it isn't particularly great. Marblehead Harbor and the homes on Marblehead Neck are pretty and interesting to see, but I'm surprised that you weren't taken to our town hall to see the original painting of "The Spirit of '76" which is really spectacular. I guess that it's hard to fit everything in in just a few hours. Congratulations on your win in the casino. Enjoy the rest of your cruise. Thanks again for the information. Mike A Posted August 30, 2008 #83 Share Posted August 30, 2008 You do not need to pre-reserve the shuttle to downtown Boston. A Princess rep will be waiting in the terminal. You just show them your card and sign for the cabin charge. We are going on a Princess tour that gives you the option to stay in Quincy Market and go back to the ship on your own. Do you know if you can buy one way shuttle tickets? We thank both Casshew and WhereIBelong for their updates and look forward to sailing on the CB in 2 weeks. Casshew Posted September 1, 2008 Author #88 Share Posted September 1, 2008 I'm surprised that you weren't taken to our town hall to see the original painting of "The Spirit of '76" which is really spectacular. I guess that it's hard to fit everything in in just a few hours. Hi Reggie, they pointed out the town hall and talked about the painting but just no time to stop and see Cassie-Glad your enjoying your cruise and another BIG win in the casino. You've been batting a thousand (pun intended) on each cruise lately when it comes to those slots. Keep up the good work. ;) ;) Yes I am doing really well, it was 600 on my first cruise, 1145.00 on the second and now 1500 :D I may start expecting this kind of thing to happen. We are going on a Princess tour that gives you the option to stay in Quincy Market and go back to the ship on your own. Do you know if you can buy one way shuttle tickets? We thank both Casshew and WhereIBelong for their updates and look forward to sailing on the CB in 2 weeks. I heard lots of people talking about the great shuttle service to the Market (including crew that went in to shop)

mikeythemars Posted September 2, 2008 #90 Share Posted September 2, 2008 After Marblehead we headed to Salem and immediately went for lunch at a place called the Victorian Station? Congratulations - as mediocre as you said your meal was, you ate at the sole remaining location (picture below) of what was once one of the most popular restaurant chains in North America. Victoria Station was a chain of railroad-themed prime rib houses (usually featuring seating in refurbished freight cars) that started in the late 60s. At its peak in the 1970s it had over 100 locations across the U.S. and Canada. However, it faded as tastes changed and filed for bankruptcy in 1986. For whatever reason, the Salem location remained open and actually contains a large collection of memorabilia from the high water mark era of the chain. shancan911 Posted September 2, 2008 #91 Share Posted September 2, 2008 Welcome back! And congrats on the slots win. I loved reading your entries, and am anxiously awaiting our cruise next month. If you have them, and get an opportunity, would love to see the Patters for the week. We are interested in one of the alternative restaurants for an evening. Any suggestions?
