  1. I have had 19 crimes in New York. It is very nice.
  2. Given the fact that they sail from Bayonne, if they did not do this the passengers don’t get a good look at the Statue of Liberty at sail away. They can only do this when tidal conditions and the NY Port Authority permits. Captain Kate started this when she was Captain of the Celebrity Summit.
  3. The ship going up the Hudson is the Anthem of the Seas. Since RCCL and Celebrity docks in Bayonne, they will routinely go up do a circle around the Statue of Liberty and then go out to sea.
  4. @JamieLogical I hope you get it. As I stated in post #23, M-L 107&108 are the absolutely best Mini-Suite's on any if the Royal Class ships. Between the HUGE balcony, and spacious separate Bedroom-Living Room, there is nothing like it. Basically, getting a Suite for the price of a Reserve Mini.
  5. @JamieLogical I am looking forward to following along on another one of your great Live From Thread’s 🙂 @Crown Cruiser I totally agree with everything you said above. We stayed in M108 on the Royal Princess in 2016. It was fabulous with a HUGE Wraparound Balcony. I would take over a full suite, now that it is Reserve Class in a heartbeat. Mike A
  6. Most of the time. Embark/Debark almost always takes place in Brooklyn. The only time they would use Manhattan is if NY is a port of call in the middle of cruise, occasionally at the beginning or end of a Trans-Atlantic (not always), or an inaugural. The only other time a Princess ship would Embark/Debark in Manhattan is if another ship is scheduled at the same time to be berthed in Brooklyn. Either a Cunard (most likely Queen Mary), MSC or Princess Ship.
  7. Thank you very much @HoneyBubba. Hopefully Sabatini’s will replace Harmony. If they could transform the Double Down Bar to Crooner’s it would make many people, including me very happy 🙂
  8. On the Majestic, Baja and Aloha 432 and 433 are Accessible. The staterooms and balconies are huge with a stall shower.
  9. Thank You @LACruiser88!!! That’s what I figured too. Hopefully that is the case. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the rest of your cruise and look forward to following your great live from thread🙂🙂🙂
  10. @LA Cruiser1st off I have been following your live from and have enjoyed enjoyed minute 🙂. You stated the Majestic will have a 2 week dry dock in April 2025. We are on the 10 day sailing on April 21, 2025, Rome to Trieste. Did the Staff Officers provide you with exact dates in April? Hopefully, we are not affected and will have added pleasure to dine in Sabatini’s, our favorite specialty restaurant.
  11. On the ship I use the medallion net internet using Wi-Fi calling for telephone calls, texting, FaceTime and streaming. As stated above make sure you are in Airplane Mode and turn on Wi-Fi calling. In port I have the $10.00 per day AT&T International Day cellular plan. Just need to make sure that you can use the plan in the country you are visiting. I’ve used it in Canada, Mexico, Italy, Spain, Bermuda and The Bahamas.
  12. While I have always auto tipped as well as give additional to the Room Steward and all waiters, back when we used envelopes in 1999, when we were on the Maiden Voyage of the Carnival Triumph, Our Room Steward and MDR Waiter were useless. However the Bus Boy was amazing and more than made up for the Waiter. Therefore, we cut the Room Stewards tip in half and gave the Bus Boy the recommended tip for the Waiter plus more, and the waiter got the Bus Boy’s tip. That was the ONLY cruise where the service was sub par which I attribute to being the maiden voyage. We did not book as such. However it was supposed to be the 3rd cruise just like the Sun Princess. As much as things change they stay the same LOL.
  13. So did mine. Back in 2005 my then 20YO daughter and her best friend were with us on the Caribbean Princess. The moment we hit San Juan, since they allowed drinking at,18 the girls begged me to take them to Senior Frogs. After one drink they said what’s the fuss all about and we were back on the ship. They just had to say they did it. LOL.
  14. The thing I love about NCL is the Washy Washy Happy Happy song and monitors at the buffet. While they don’t make it mandatory I find more people than not wash their hands at the buffet on NCL because of the reminder.
  15. @JimmyVWine That is exactly what my Travel Summary does for Premier😀
  16. The prices you are showing are on both the Travel Summary from Princess and what I received from my T/A. The prices shown are what Princess would charge for each item separately which would be MSRP. As @memoak said above the true saving to you would subject to your actual usage. Personally, we do Premier as we like the higher end drinks, as well as the 2 Specialty Dinners and the Unlimited Casual Meals. However, we will probably never use the Fitness Classes or Premium Desserts.
  17. Attached is a link to the Port of Bermuda Webcam https://www.portbermudawebcam.com/ As you can see the Portside of the Getaway is facing the dock. As stated above the position varies by currents, tides and operational requirements. I also always want Starboard leaving NYC for the close up of Lady Liberty and Ellis Island. However, the NYC skyline on the Port side isn't shabby either🙂.
  18. I sailed on the inaugural voyage from of the Carnival Triumph (now Sunrise). It traveled without passengers to New York. It was supposed to be the 3rd however it was delayed similar to the Sun Princess. In fact we booked the 3rd voyage thinking the kinks would be worked out. No such luck. Dining Room was a disaster and room steward was totally lost.
  19. Attached is the link to, in my opinion. the best the best and most complete schedule for ships leaving NYC Current Arrivals & Departures – World Ship Society (worldshipny.com). You will see it has the Enchanted leaving Brooklyn/Red Hook on August 31st. As stated above, Princess rarely uses the Manhattan Cruise Terminal (MCT). The only time this year Princess will be at the MCT will be 7/13-14 as a port call as part of the Coral Princess World Cruise and 10/2-3 as part of Sky Princess Transatlantic.
  20. @Cruise Raider We are going on Majestic April 2025. When I look at the deck plans for Majestic, I do not see GiGi's pizza. Where is it located? Am hoping it is there since being from NY we have to have our pizza LOL. Anyway, I am also hoping that Harmony is converted to Sabatini's. Chinese restaurants are a dime a dozen here in NY and Sabatini's has always been our favorite restaurant on Princess. Finally, can't wait to try Catch by Rudi!!!
  21. I just checked my pricing on my Majestic Princess April 21, 2025 sailing that I booked 1/23/24 and the price is the exactly the same as booked except, I did not have to pay a deposit. The new deposit requirement is $297 per stateroom. I have 2 Reserve Mini-Suites with Princess Premiere. Both rooms have 3 persons and I purchased Premiere for the 3rd person also
  22. Actually those bottles appear to be beer. I see Stella Artois and Budweiser right in front.
  23. @Cruise Raider With respect to the desserts I am with you. Give me the Garlic Bread🙂. My DGD’s love ice cream though. We went to Gelato on the Royal. My wife thought it was okay. Thanks for the clarification on Bellinis/Terrace Bar. My wife and I both love a good Champagne. On The Joy they had Veuve by the glass as part of their upgraded Beverage package in 2022 which I throughly took advantage of 😀. I doubt Princess offers it as NCL no longer does. I’m sure there are other labels that are very good. Also love a good bourbon or scotch. Finally, I can’t wait to try The Catch by Rudi. We live near the water on Long Island and we all love good seafood. I too could see us doing both specialty dinners at The Catch as Sabitini’s is not available. I always felt that the Crown Grill was just OKAY compared to the great Steakhouses here in the NY Metro area and the fact I love to BBQ good steaks.
  24. @Cruise Raider We are very much looking forward dining at The Catch at Rudi with one of our two specialty dinners. We all love Sea Food and I hear nothing but great things, The Noodle Bar looks very interesting and can't wait to try. On all ships I have been on I have always loved the Asian and Indian at the buffet. On the website they said they were bringing back Crab Shack which we had and loved on the Royal Princess. Unfortunately, it also said Alaska only. I hope they add to other itineraries. With respect to the Hollywood Conservatory, my wife and I cannot wait. We had the Observation Lounge, which we loved, on the Norwegian Joy (Also Built for Chinese Market) It was quiet and not crowded as we went to Bermuda. However, The Hollywood Conservatory looks much much nicer. With respect to your??? regarding the Specialty Desserts I meant to say Swirls not Scoops (wrong cruise line LOL). Also, I did not see Bellinis on the Majestic deck plan. Have they added it, or did I miss it? Anyway, I thank you very much for taking the time to answer my questions and your suggestions. I look forward to following you here on Cruise Critic!!! Mike A
  25. @Lady Arwen At least you are going to Iceland. Much more to see there. You will love your cruise and I look forward to following you.
