Bringing beer and soda on board

I'll be travelling on the Crown Princess next month and would like to know that in additon to allowing wine/champagne to be brought on board, what about beer and soda:)

Soda - NO Problem - we pack it into those large zip lock bags for added protection inc ase of rupture.

 

Beer - It varies - I have seen people hand CARRY on Beer and not get stopped. I have also heard of people packing beer in their checked bags, like the soda, without problem as well.

We kindly request that you do not bring alcoholic beverages (other than wine and/or champagne) onboard for consumption. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased duty free from the ship's gift shop or at ports of call will be collected for safekeeping and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of the voyage. A member of our Security Staff will be at the gangway to assist with the storage of your alcoholic beverage purchases.

We were told by our steward and some other employees on our cruise, that they did not care how much wine we brought on board, as long as we consumed it in our cabins. Beer and the hard stuff, however, is a no-no.
