Booked Eastern itinerary - changed to Western

Has this happened to you? I booked in June on the Valor - Eastern run going to Nassau, St Maarten and St Thomas. Just heard yesterday that Carnival changed it to a Western route. I realize ports can change, but never heard of an entire intineray change after it was booked. I do not want the western or I'd have booked it originaly. Already have airfare and hotel paid for - how frustrating!
