Latest Boarding?

Recommended Posts

I've just bought flights through Virgin Blue who are having a bithday sale. Departing Melbourne 8.15am, which can't be changed. Upon rereading Croyden Cruiser's review I've noticed details initially skimmed over regarding a 4 hour flight delay. Have many of you found such delays to be common? What is the absolute latest passengers are able to board on the day?

I think I'm starting to move into panic mode.

You will have heaps of time with an 8.15am flight, even with delays. And if something happened that may delay you I'm sure that P&O would be aware as they probably would have other passengers booked on that flight too. You will probably be standing there looking at the ship by 10am.

And also Virgin don't seem to have as many problems as Qantas has been having lately.

They like all passengers to be onboard approx 1hr before departure time. Assuming a 4pm departure, that gives you till 3pm for normal boarding.

As long as there are no major delays or traffic snarls, you should be onboard in plenty of time for lunch - with plenty of buffer time.
