RetdCruizers Posted September 1, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2008 We will be traveling to several countries including, Egypt, Casablanca, & Turkey and want to make certain that we are dressed appropriately without offending anyone. Does anyone have tips on clothing choices while visiting these areas? For example, is it proper for a woman to wear slacks, or would a dress/skirt be best? WeBeGone Posted September 1, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2008 I wore capris and blouses with capped sleeves every day. The only clothing requirement is that in mosques your shoulders must be covered. If you arrive in spaghetti strap/halter top type of thing, there are "ponchos" provided to enter the mosques. Rickey 88 Posted September 1, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2008 Just dress conservatively and you'll be alright. All these countries are Muslim, but have a rather relaxed attitude to visitors. If you are visiting a mosque, women should have their arms covered and all are required to leave their shoes at the door.
RetdCruizers Posted September 1, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted September 1, 2008 Thanks to both of you for your reply. I thought that we would be okay, but wanted to make certain. By following the suggestion to "dress conservatively" is easy enough to do. Thanks again..
