rpinphx1 Posted September 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2008 Hi, Would anyone know approx. how much time it takes to get from T5 to T1, going thru security etc. Then back from T1 to T5 ? This would be done mid May. I looked on BA and LHR sight I couldn't figuere it out. I have never done this and want to go to Urban Retreat @ T1 after I land from Phoenix which they said is after security. Thanks

AFAIK all lounges (including Urban Retreat) are required to enforce the rule that airside departures lounges are only available to those who are departing from the terminal in which the lounge is situated. If you really want to do this, you should first of all find out from Urban Retreat whether they are exempt from this rule and whether they will allow you in even though your departing flight is from Terminal 5. You will also have one other problem if you manage this: when you are in the airside departures area of T1, you may need to get an escort to get into the arrivals stream so that you can be processed through the Flight Connections Centre again to get to T5 (or exit T1 to landside and do the transfer by a landside route). It used to be possible to do this yourself, but with the segregation that has been being put in place in T1, I am not sure that this is possible any more. If you can do it, I would allow 45-60 minutes in each direction.
