Observation Lounge on Summit

Cruise Arizona

Recommended Posts

Does anybody have pictures of the current state of the observation lounge on the Summit. At one time it was give the "Bar on the Edge of the Earth" Cirque treatment, but I understand that some of that decor has been removed. Just curious as to the current look of the area.

After several cruises sitting in the comfort of the observation lounge on ML, we were so-o-o-o disappointed with the current state of the same lounge on Summit in April/ May this year.

We were depressed even going in there! in fact We almost did not book our upcoming cruise on Summit for NOV 08 because it is so poor by comparison. The circular dance floor was black rubbery looking stuff as if the metal circle topping had been removed and not yet replaced. The ceiling "hangings" were just that...very dirty looking and probably smoke ridden...ugh! What a waste of a good area.

Personally speaking we think the actual chairs etc and design of the lounge seating right up front needs to be drastically reviewed..who wants to sit on hard chairs for the sake of design , or couches with no "back" and perch there.....our feet dangled... the seat heights were too high for us. In fact we avoided going there unless we had to .....and in comparison to ML... no contest !

Hope it has changed before Nov 08 but we don't think so!

Good evening,

Unfortunately, the leftovers from the dreaded Cirque du Soleil experiment are mostly still there....Both for Connie & Summit... At this late stage after the ''experiments'' and with all the negative comments from seasonned and younger cruisers, I fail to comprehend why Celebrity stubbornly ( so it seems...or perhaps that should be *stupidly* ) refuses to restore the observation lounge to its original status, the way it was intended to be....

Leaving it ''as is '' after removing the essentials of the circus act actually is FAR worse than simply biting the bullet and fixing ALL the area.

But then again, we're dealing with shore-side Celebrity personnel & thinking here....and this wouldn't be the first ( or last ) display of ''strange'' thinking....wouldn't we all agree ? :o

Cheers

Its a shame, we were on the Summit in Feb and could never dance on that floor as it was some rubber surface. Lots of dirty gauze hanging form the ceiling etc. Its a large, large space, maybe they should utilize it better.

By now, each of those ships have had dry docks and enough time to fix these lounges.
