Need a hotel recommendation in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

LaQuinta/Hollywood had free car park during your cruise and free shuttle to the port.

I would prefer to stay at a Marriott property using points and pay for parking. I believe I will have a more enjoyable stay this way. Now if I were paying for hotel and parking, the choice might be different.

apparently is the closest hotel to the port and its not to far from the airport either

its also right on the beach

we were able to get it for $325 a night in holiday season (late december) for three nights before our cruise

 

We got it on Priceline for January 2009 for $160 pn. It is evidently a bit of a plain Jane and about to undergo a renovation. I am told it is about a $15 cab ride from the airport.

Another option for you if you want to use Marriott points would be the Dania Springhill Suites. It has free parking and a free shuttle to the cruise port. Nice hotel with a good breakfast. We are staying there in March 2009.
