Renaissance/Ft. Lauderdale Grande/Hyatt Place

We are staying 3 nights precruise in October. Looking for opinion on which hotel you like the best. Choices are the Renaissance, The Fort Lauderdale Grande or Hyatt Place???? We got good rates at all of them but we haven't been to Ft. Lauderdale in over 35 years so really not sure what's the best place to stay. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!!

For what it's worth, quite a few of the CC members on the Southern Caribbean next April are staying at the Renaissance.

Based on reviews at Tripadvisor.com I have decided to stay at the Fort Lauderdale Grande prior to my cruise next year. It is currenly ranked number 7 out of 136 hotels in Fort Lauderdale. The Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Hotel is ranked nuber 26 and Hyatt Place is ranked number 61.

We've also chosen to stay at Fort Lauderdale Grande. I haven't stayed there before, but the pictures look great and it seems to be in a good location for the water taxi and close to the port. No shuttles - so we'll just catch a taxi.

Taxis to and from the airport and port should be fairly inexpensive since the hotel is so close to both.
