SDPadreFan Posted September 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2008 A new (currently minor) storm system is developing of the southern coast of Mexico (near Zihuatanejo). Presently, the computer models show it could cause some problems for ships heading south in the next week. Doesn't appear to be heading for any significant port cities but it's possible it could cause some tendering problems in Cabo. Worth keeping an eye on anyway. SDPadreFan Posted September 9, 2008 Author #2 Share Posted September 9, 2008 Tropical Storm Lowell has now tacked to a north easterly heading and is projected to hit the Baja Peninsula safely north of Cabo on Thursday afternoon. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday departures this week from Southern California will probably be effected.
Britany Posted September 15, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2008 We were in Los Cabos last week for a land vacation and were there when the storm hit. The water was pretty rough for a few days, and we didn't notice any cruise ships in the area. Was anyone's cruise affected by Lowell? Of course we were staying San Jose del CAbo, not Cabo San Lucas, so it's possible that we just missed them.
