sweston85 Posted September 13, 2008 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2008 If we're sailing on AoS on the 10th of May, just 4 days after dry dock, is this going to be bad? Is it not good to sail after a ship gets out of dry dock? What is AoS going into dry dock for? I'm kind of worried now and want to change our sailing date to the 24th of May. tuliplvr Posted September 13, 2008 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2008 I'm curious as well, we said on May 24th. What do they do in dry dock?
danp Posted September 13, 2008 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2008 With short drydocks they usually do a lot of upgrades and work on the engines. The good part is that they will probaly be changing a lot of the rugs and furniture. So if you are on the first cruise you will be getting to enjoy it while it is still new and not spotted.Take the cruise and ENJOY. wv4dmb Posted September 13, 2008 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2008 Has anyone been on a ship the last voyage before the dry dock? If AOS is drydocking April 26 2009 that is right after our cruise. Is this bad? AO Any information is appreciated. Thanks!
sweston85 Posted September 13, 2008 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2008 Is it bad to be on the first cruise after dry dock, though? I really don't want to push our cruise back to the 24th, but at the same time I don't want to be on a ship w/ lots of bugs and flaws.
dollie Posted April 5, 2009 #10 Share Posted April 5, 2009 Call Crown & Anchor they will tell you exactly when dry dock is. They will give you information that will help ease your thoughts on this. You could be one of the ones that are in the first of the sailing of a new looking ship. They told me months ago that after dry-dock it is refurbished to look like a new ship inside and out. The wear and tear of so many sailing that this needs to be done every so often. We are going in Sept 09 and it was going to be done a few months before we sailed. You will have a wonderful trip regardless when the ship is dry-docked.
