NightOne Posted October 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2004 Sometimes the cruise ships miss Grand Cayman because the waters are too rough to tender. Is this more likely to happen in April or in May? or is it equal between these months? Thanks Carl
cruisinqt Posted October 27, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2004 There is really no way to know when the waters will or will not be rough.:( We went on a cruise this past January which should have been a good month to go, but our Grand Cayman port was cancelled due to rough seas. Even in months when the seas should be calm, you can still get it cancelled. The only months that I've been told might be questionable is during hurricane season from June until November. And that's because hurricanes and tropical storms can really make the seas rough. But I've heard several people here at CC say that they went during the summer and had no problem. So there probably is no way to really predict when the seas will be rough.
NoNoNanette Posted October 27, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 27, 2004 I think that it's probably "hit or miss". A few years ago, we were able to tender in early April. Last year on the Conquest, first week of March, we weren't allowed. Good luck, kiddo!
NightOne Posted October 28, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted October 28, 2004 I was curious if anyone had any stats on this. (i.e. April misses 17% and May misses 11% - or something to that effect)
