Dining Room on Embarkation Day

We just got back from the Westerdam Alaska cruise. As we got onto the ship around 12:30, we just followed the group ahead of us, not knowing where we were going, and ended up in the dining room for lunch. Good thing too, because the Lido is (IMHO) a disaster area during "rush hour".

On most of the Vista class ships and the Signature ship (Eurodam) the diniing is open from Noon to 1 PM for lunch.
We didn't have the option of the dining room when we boarded the Eurodam on 2 July, nor was it available on 5 July or 15 July. It would have been nice as the Lido sure wasn't able to handle the hoards we experienced.
