Considering Seabourn Western Med for Honeymoon...

My fiance and I are thinking about booking a 7 day Seabourn cruise for our honeymoon (Yachtsman's Riviera, April 26 from Barcelona to Monte Carlo). We have both cruised on a few cruises before but never a luxury line. Several aspects of Seabourn appeal to us (the itinerary, small size of ship, dining, etc.) but we understand that most passengers will be in the 50-70 age range. This is perfectly fine with us (we are 29 and 30) but want to make sure that we won't feel like outsiders or be shunned for being younger than most other passengers! Any thoughts on what the age range might be for this length of cruise at this time of year? Any opinions on whether we should consider any other cruise lines for the honeymoon?

We have both travelled all over the world and often stay at 4 and 5 star luxury hotels; we do not enjoy the party all night aspects on so many of the mainstream cruise lines; and we are more interested in spending time with each other and seeing the various ports than socializing with other passengers (though of course we expect and look forward to doing that to a certain degree). Thanks in advance for any help!

Don't worry about the ages. I have been on cruises where there are several young couples..and often..a family will bring their young people and their spouses along. As for being shunned...never happen. You will find the guests very friendly..and after a day or two..you will be conversing and passing the time of day with them..regardless of age. Lots of peope meet on the tours as well as at the invited dinners. The only people who are "alone"..are those who choose to be. It is never a problem dining as a twosome...and if you want company..simply sit at a large table. Another plus, you will find the staff and crew fabulous. You will get to know them, and of couse they are young...and from all parts of the world. Congrats on your coming wedding...and do come aboard Seabourn. You will certainly return. Most people rebook while on board..it is that wonderful. Lola [we have taken our daughter on two cruises, and she loved it. She enjoyed the young couples, but her favorites were the "oldersters"..she found them to be so interesting.]

You picked a good one--we have done this cruise a couple times. Couple of my favorite things on the trip are watching the ship dock at Port Vendres--be sure to get up to see this--you may have to be at Early Bird coffee to do it. The Capt really has to thread a needle. Don't miss Provence when you dock at Marseille. Takes most of the day, but is well worth it--usually the provide a short orientation walk. then you are on your own, be sure to look for the little square where they sell nothing but home made candy. It's France but the pizza is great for a quick lunch. It's a real good day! Don
