Kerry & Danny Posted September 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2008 Please can anyone tell me how Black Watch handles bad weather. We are looking at a cruise that sails end of November from Dover, an we are a bit worried that we may hit it bad in the Bay Biscay, just wondered as she is such a small ship what she would be like. We have been in storms on larger ships, and some handle it better than others. Thanks Kerry
Parsman Posted September 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2008 I think you will find she is very stable in heavy weather. I have been on her many times and have found few problems.
balf Posted September 24, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2008 We did not find her very good at all in rough conditions. Certainly not compared with the ships of other lines we have sailed. David.
jhoney Posted September 29, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 29, 2008 Black Watch handles rough weather extremely well. She is a proper ship, built for long-distance voyages, not a floating condominium. A few years ago I spent two days going through Force 12s in the Bay of Biscay. It wasn't exactly the most comfortable ride I've ever had, but when we reached calmer water we met up with Braemar heading in the opposite direction. To us, the seas had calmed, but the flat-bottomed Braemar was pitching and tossing alarmingly.
