Travelrd Posted September 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2008 If this is a duplicate, I apologize. The first posting timed out on me. Last Sunday was the last Alaska cruise for the Star and yet the bridge cam still shows the skyline of Seattle. I would have thought it had sailed down to San Francisco for drydock and perhaps, it has. Does anyone know when it is supposed to begin the drydock rennovations? Do they turn off the bridge cam on a non passenger cruise like this? Thanks for your opinions.
Druke I Posted September 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 23, 2008 According to another thread, it is still in Seattle, leaving this afternoon for San Francisco. Bridge-cams often don't update and don't always show current location.
Sandytoes Posted September 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2008 Star Princess and Caribbean Princess will include a transformation of the Deck 5 atrium into the inviting piazza-style street café including a new wine bar concept including a walk-in cheese humidor and a fully stocked wine store, adults-only Sanctuary and Crown Grill steak and seafood restaurant, along with a more centrally located casino and seven new suites. Star Princess will also receive a Movies Under The Stars screen during her September dry dock in San Francisco and Caribbean Princess will follow in January 2009. CruiseKing Posted September 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 23, 2008 Check out this thread. It seems like we'll have to wait and see just what upgrades get done with this drydock. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=841680
