sp29488 Posted September 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2008 I was wondering (after being called by a PVP) how can Carnival know that you've been on the website if you don't sign in? I like to look at the information but talk to someone on my terms. I also have a CVS that I like to deal with and don't like to be hounded by someone that I've never dealt with (even if they are a PVP). Has anyone have or had this happen? I like to look on the website alot but I don't want to be called every time I do. I thought if I didn't sign in then they wouldn't know I've been on the site but according the PVP that called me, they can.
AZ Karaoke Girl Posted September 24, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2008 It's not just on Carnival. I got a call from a NCL consultant yesterday cuz I was "browsing" so I told her I was already booked on Carnival :)
Ken076 Posted September 24, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2008 You deposit "Cookies" there when you browse but these would not normally have telephone contact ingo; I'm guessing you must have "registered" at some point? ken
StevieG Posted September 24, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2008 As a registered Carnival guest with a user name and password you might have been logged in when you hit the site. When I go to the Carnival site I am usually logged in as soon as I get there as the computer remembers. You need to clean you cache, turn off the cookies and delete the history. PelicanBill Posted September 24, 2008 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2008 As a registered Carnival guest with a user name and password you might have been logged in when you hit the site. When I go to the Carnival site I am usually logged in as soon as I get there as the computer remembers. You need to clean you cache, turn off the cookies and delete the history. Clear cache and delete cookies should be enough to stop it. The cookie is on your computer. When you hit a web site it has the right to read the cookie on your computer for that site. So Carnival web site reads your cookie, gets userid from prior registration, and reports you have been browsing.... even if you don't log in. cpprinttom Posted September 24, 2008 #7 Share Posted September 24, 2008 Has anyone have or had this happen? I like to look on the website alot but I don't want to be called every time I do. They never call me and I usually look at the website at least once a week. They only called me once, and that was when I first registered with the website.
