Promenade Cabins

Recommended Posts

We had one of these cabins on the Voyager October past. We LOVED it! Noise was not a factor. We were in #7609. The cabin was great but the view was not so great. We were the second last cabin on deck 7 closest to the library. When we looked out our window all we could see was the centrum. It was very pretty but I would have rathered to be mid ship so you could see the parades if you wanted to see them from your room or whatever other activity was going on down on the promenade.

We ended up booking another promenade cabin for this October on the Mariner. This time we are on deck 7 but right in the center of the promenade! icon_biggrin.gif

I have the same question. Funny, this will be our third time booking a PR for my parents (we usually go with a balcony) but each time we lucked out...

First we were too far down (behind Prom. sign) then they were towards the front and one of the flags were completly covering their view, which was fine....so now we booked another PR room, can't remember off the top of my head but was wondering the same thing, where will it end them up?? You can't really tell from the book..

Anyone know which rooms would be right center??

Also, these rooms are wonderful, we never had a noise factor, the views were good versus great sue to room# but we were icon_biggrin.gif ..

Thanks,

N

We had a promenade view room on the Mariner in January. I think it was 8561. We were up and across from the coffee place. We were able to see the start of the parades but nothing after they passed under the walkway. If your room is close to the library, all you'll see is the Champagne bar or the guest relations desk.

We loved the rooms.

We had Promenade rooms on both Explorer cruises, deck 6 and deck 7. We liked deck 7 better. We had 7277 and our friends had 7275. They were both midship but connecting. For our Oct 04 Voyager cruise we have 3 cabins (non-connecting) on deck 7 booked for our group. If you get in the 7275 - 7283 range (or 7575 -7583 for the other side of the ship) you should be about midship. We had a great view and no obstructions.

These are great rooms! We had 7580 and had a great, unobstructed view of all the happenings below.Great alternative to a regular inside cabin.

Just be sure to keep those drapes drawn if you decide to get "frisky"!

We have PR 7579 booked for Nov sailing on MOS. Is this a good location for viewing parades? My sister and her husband have a handicapped room on same floor, but on the other side of ship. Thanks!

We were in 7575 on the Explorer last month - awesome view of all parades, etc. Atrium rooms are a great concept. Definitely a nice way to get light into an "inside" cabin. Would consider booking one again since it made the cruise very affordable.

Also, I loved having the window seat AND a little couch. And, I agree that noise was not a problem.

Have a great time - we sure did!!!

My wife and I had a promanade room on the NOS last May. LOVED IT!!!! It was mid ship had a fantastic view of the evening parade. Not to mention you can look at the heartbeat of the ship 24/7 right from the bay window couch!!!

Noise definitely not a factor..but make you sure you close your drapes when you are dressing as you will give the folks in the rooms across from you a show to remember icon_eek.gificon_wink.gif

icon_wink.gifThis cruise coming up in Oct on the AOS will be our first promenade room. Not sure our cabin # but any cabin will be exciting to us. What's the noise level in these cabins? I'm concerned about my brother-in-law complaining of noise. It's his first cruise and I really want things to go smooth for him. Did I make a mistake in booking these cabins? icon_confused.gif

Sailing on Oct.3 Anyone going????

Just got off the Mariner (two days ago) and we were in 7583... and here's my take.

Location for viewing the Promenade - ideal... looks right over Vintages. Great for people watching. Also, if you look to the right, you can see the big clock. However, I really don't think we would have enjoyed watching the parades (including the kids circus parade, or the pirates!) from the room as you really don't get the full effect. Saturday night we grabbed a couple of stools at Cafe Promenade and it was a perfect spot to watch the parade from.

The rooms are TINY! Especially if you have the beds separated. I had the hostess push the beds back together and my daughter chose to sleep on the window seat (thank goodness she's small!)

The issue of closing the drapes to change... my daughter and I quickly found out, if you open the bathroom door, and the smaller of the two closet doors - it forms a small (but convenient) changing room... without having to go through the hassle of closing the drapes each time. Of course there was the time my daughter (she's only 7) was standing on the couch in the window and stripped down... I think the teen years are going to be fun!

Noise, as to whether or not it's a factor, all depends on if your a night owl, or a morning person. We tend to go to bed between 9 and 10... and there were a couple of nights there was LOUD music coming from the little bandstand on deck 5... which was almost under room 7563. Fortunately it didn't last much past 10pm (if at all), so we dealt with it. Also, since we were at the end of a block of rooms, there was a LOT of noise from the other side of the wall that might have been a service elevator?

A cool thing I didn't really notice until our last night - the light in the Promenade is kept at a blue-ish hue during the middle of the night, until the morning and then it was turned more natural. I don't know if this was meant to simulate the outdoor light, but it seemed to.

Whew... that was longwinded... wasn't it?
