Blue Lagoon / Dolphin Encounters Are they the same?

We were going to book The Atlantis Dolphin swim but read that the Blue Lagoon is a better all around experience. Since we are going to Atlantis in November I wanted to book the Blue Lagoon dolphin swim.

Does anyone know if they are the same?

We have did Blue Lagoon and it was a great experience, the island is breathtaking. It does take quite a while to get there and back, but if you have been to the Bahamas before take the time you will certainly not regret it.

The two experiences are very different and on two different islands. Atlantis is mainly a eco tour.. with a few minutes of dolphin interaction in a manmade lagoon. Most have found this a disappointment.

 

Dolphin Encoutner is a natural lagoon with more interaction time.. and most days.. you can spend the rest of the day relaxing on the pristine beach nearby.. without the thousands of tourist elbow to elbow.

I don't think so.. quite frankly, i don't they are looking for the crowded cruise crowd.

At the moment, you CAN purchase an observer pass..which allows you to access the beach.. not sure of the price, but it's reasonable.

 

the beach is not opened on Sundays and thursdays.

I have not done the dolphin encounter at Atlantis, but I can't imagine that it's any better than the one on Blue Lagoon Island. You get a boatride over to the island, which is cool in itself. Then you get to see the island, which is surrounded by the most beautiful water I have ever seen. We did the encounter 2 years ago there and it was great.
