golf carts

Just booked the Independence of the Seas for March. We have never been to Costa Maya and are looking forward to it. I heard we can rent golf carts.....do you rent at the pier and drive them into town or are they for the pier area only? Or, do you taxi to town and then rent them? Thanks.

We rented one back in Jan 05. Had a blast. You're not restricted to the pier area.
