that will accomodate 5 people - 2 adults and 3 kids - Thanks!!

Other than the Family Suites, you can book 2 adjoining balcony cabins. If you open the balcony divider, you can pass between the two cabins easily. Depending on the age of your children, you could also book a outside or balcony cabin and then an inside cabin directly across the passageway from it. You can place one of those baby intercom systems in their room so you can keep an "ear" on them...or get the one with video so you can see them as well.

The most a Princess cabin (or even a full suite, aside from the already mentioned family suite) will accomodate is 4, no way around it. There have been some ideas previously posted. Plus, some ships do have adjoining stateroom, but they are not common on Princess and book up very fast. Sorry!

We considered splurging and booking a suite for the 5 of us, but we really like having separate rooms. Our kids are 14, 12, 9 and we keep the little guy with us in a balcony and let the older two have their own inside.

The only suite you would be able to book for the 5 of you would be the family suite, which is like having two seperate rooms, even two seperate entrances. It is an inside and a mini suite combined with a common extended living room. Princess will not book a family of 5 in any stateroom except the family suite.

This is what we do: a regular, low category balcony for my husband and myself, and an inside across the hall for our kids. This way everyone gets a "real" bed (no sofa bed or upper berth), and we have two bathrooms. It usually comes out to nearly the same price as cramming all four of us into a higher category balcony.

we have booked a balcony and in inside several times for our family. Never a problem. You might want to bring a baby monitor if you are want to hear what is happening in their room.

I am pretty sure that Princess requires each room to have someone booked that is 21. Book each spouse in a room. Book the third child in the inside room even if you plan to have the child sleep in your room. (booking a 3rd in an inside room is cheaper). After you get there just change the sleeping arrangements to what you need.

The only catch is that you need to make sure you are booked in a room that has a pullman and can accomodate 3 people. It takes a little research but you can do. I have done this 3 or 4 times now.
