I've been sailing on RCCL for Christmas and New Year's every year for the past 14 yrs and the ships are all very festive.

For Christmas, they have a special Christmas show, caroling in the Centrum, a midnight mass on Christmas Eve, Egg Nog on Christmas Day and Santa makes a visit and has a gift for all the kids. There's usually a special Christmas menu in the dining room and each cabin receives a gift on Christmas (although on 2 past cruises nothing was offered).

On New Years, again there's a special menu for dinner. Everyone gets hats and noise makers and there are parties set up in all the lounges and on the pool deck. They have a ship wide countdown and free champagne.

The ships are beautiful during the holidays with hundreds of poinsettias, christmas trees, garland etc.

There's no better way to spend the holidays than at sea... enjoy!

Hi Prettybird!

We will be on the same sailing and are looking forward to a great cruise.

We always cruise over Christmas and New Year and there is ussually loads of parties and activities organised. This will be our 1st RCCL christmas cruise.

There is a great meet and mingle thread going on with loads of fantastic advice from poeple who have cruised Explorer before, so come on over and take a look.
