GeezLouise1 Posted September 29, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2008 We're booked to travel on the QM2 8/04/09. This crossing will be our return segment. We're sailing over on another ship (HAL) and will be in Europe in between. I understand that Cunard sends documents out 2 weeks in advance. We'll already be in transit. What arrangements could be made to get docs early, or shall we just wait until Southampton? Are there any concerns with picking up documents on the day of departure? Because both ships are owned by the same corporation, will this have an impact?
cruisegal101 Posted September 29, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2008 You don't need your documents. Carry your confirmation number with you and your passport and you will be fine.

That's terrific. No problem without luggage tags, etc? I am very relieved. Thanks.:)
NomDePlume Posted September 29, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 29, 2008 No problem without luggage tags, etc? As long as you have your confirmation number, the baggage handlers will confirm with the desk and take care of it.
basil's mom Posted September 29, 2008 #5 Share Posted September 29, 2008 The cruise documents will be sent to your travel agent, and your travel agent will forward them to you. Perhaps you can talk to your agent and have him/her send them to you in Europe.

They don't even ask for the documents at the Cunard terminal. And as Nom de Plume said, just the confirmation number to check your bags and passport to check in. GeezLouise1 Posted September 29, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted September 29, 2008 Thanks all for your responses! That takes the worry out of it, for sure.
resistk Posted October 5, 2008 #8 Share Posted October 5, 2008 If your crossings are 4-5 weeks apart, Cunard after some prompting by your TA will issue early the return segment documents before you cross. I've had this done 3 times. I don't recommend going without the return ticket in hand if you plan to travel in Europe. For example when re-entering England from the Schengen Zone you may be asked to provide proof of onward tickets...
