Celebrity CruiseTour #6, 12 or 15...which one?

We are looking at a Celebrity cruisetour. We have three options under serious consideration:

 

#6 11 nights

 

Fairbanks - two nights

Train to Denali...Tundra Wildnerness Tour

Motorcoach to Talkeetna

Motorcoach Talkeetna to ANC and Seward

 

#12 12 nights

 

ANC - overnight

Train to Talkeetna - overnight

Train to Denali - TWT - 2 overnights

Motorcoach to Fairbanks - overnight (Riverboat Sternwheeler)

Flight back to ANC

 

#15 13 nights

 

Fairbanks - two nights

Riverboat Discovery Sternwheeler

Train to Denali - TWT overnight

Train to Talkeetna overnight

Motorcoach to Anchorage - overnight

ANC - Alyeska - overnight

Alyeska (tramway then motorcoach to Seward

The highlight of a cruise tour is Denali, and it looks like you have the TWT on any of these tours. I would do the one with two overnights in Denali, as otherwise you are just hurrying up and waiting to be put on a bus or train to somewhere. Even better is to rent a car and do it on your own.

My biggest negative about #12 is the flight BACK from Fairbanks. However it is easier to fly into ANC than Fairbanks.

2 nights at Denali is definately better than one. But I would also look at one with an Anchroage overnight, and then the ability to ditch the cruisetour on a southbound cruise and get yourself into Seward at a decent hour, so to enjoy some touring. NONE of your cruisetour selections have any time there. I find it very difficult to rationalize the tons of people who just pass through. They are missing out on significant touring opportunities.

I have to say that those appeal to me because there is a OBC offer for those dates and I really want to do southbound. I made it Alaska once and can always go back. This sort of combines the best of both worlds.
