information on this ship? I just booked a cruise for Aug.2005. Actually, there are 18 of us. We are on "guarantee" status" for inside rooms. I usually take the Riveria Deck. How is the Miracle for rooms on this deck. In general, what was the ship like. We also have 7 kids coming 2 oldest are 12. How is the slide on the pool. Does the Miracle have the 24 hour icecream bar, pizza place, and if I remember correctly the other ships have little "stand" where you can get fruit punch, water 24 hours. Last time my grandkids beat a path to the icecream bar and pizza place. How was the "smoking" situation. We are all NON smokers.

We are going to Gr. Cayman, Cozumel, Costa Mayo and Belize. My SO and I have been to all but Belize. I am excited about going here.

This is my 3rd cruise on Carnival(one was the no longer "Paradise") and we have done 3 on RCCL as well.

Any help will be appreciated. Anyone write a review yet or going to in the future?

Lynda

Traveled on the Miracle in March. Wonderful ship and easy to find your way around. Frequently had difficulty finding ice cream. Go there and find a sign that says closed for cleaning or no sign, no ice cream. This was usually in the afternoon-ususally could find it at mealtimes. Pizza good but sometimes seemed to have sat too long and was dry or sometimes only find one kind. Not much demand at that time so I guess they weren;t fixing any more. The overall food experience was great but I was trying to answer your specific question. We did not get our cabin assignment until we arrived at the port. We booked 8A Gua. and ended up with 8I. Great upgrade! E-mail me at lwaters487@aol.com if you have other specific questions.

Just off the Miracle today, so I can answer some of your questions.

I booked a 1A guarantee and ended up with an inside cabin on deck 7 (Verandah, aft). Spacious room for 2 people, plenty of storage, and it included a mini bar refrigerator that our cabin steward happily emptied for us.

Ship is wonderful, as are all the staff and crew we came into contact with. Everyone just seemed so happy, friendly and helpful. We didn't have many kids on the cruise (105?), but the ones we saw seemed to be having fun, and the slide looked like a blast for kids (young and old). They definitely have 24 hour pizza (pretty good), ice cream, and drinks. I saw plenty of fruit punch, lemonade and iced tea all the time. Sometimes there were other juices available during the day like apple juice.

Smoking...hmmm, I quit smoking exactly 1 week before the cruise, and I am happy to say that I didn't give in during the week! There are only a few lounges where smoking is allowed, as well as the casino. And while smoking is allowed on only one side of the ship on outside decks, nobody followed that rule. People smoked pretty much everywhere, but it never really bothered me. And as someone who just quit, I was expecting it to be much worse. Of course, this is just my opinion, and others may have had different experiences.

Am anxiously counting down the days. For the most part have heard really good reviews about her. My son will be totally disappointed if the ice cream stand is not up and running 24 hours. He swears he is going to live on ice cream for the entire 7 days :) LOL.

Happy cruisin

I sailed on the Miracle in May. She is a grand ship! Very beautiful with lots of artwork to admire at every turn. The hallways are decorated with pictures from classic novels. The theme of the ship is based on classics.

The smoking? The only place I noticed heavy smoke was in the bar just outside the dining room. It is an open bar and there was a lot of cigar and cigarette smoke. If smoke bothers you, you might want to arrive just a bit late to dinner so you don't have to stand near that bar while waiting for the doors to open.

The pool slide was only open a few times during my cruise. I didn't try it, but the people I saw using it looked like they enjoyed it.

I stayed in a cat 11 suite but I glanced into the inside cabins across from our room and they looked spacious.

The pizza bar is open 24 hours. Sometimes, there are fewer selections of pizza during non-peak hours. I would just order the pizza I wanted and come back in 5 minutes to get it.

The ice-cream bar is outside by the aft pool and was closed most of the time during my cruise.

There is a place to get lemonade, iced tea, and water on the lido deck 24 hours a day.

Let me know if you have any more specific questions.

they are usually over head and come out of the wall. 4 of us went to Alaska on another ship. My friend and I had the upper bunks.I was 60 years old then. They were no problem for me so your kids should be fine. I only had a little problem getting down the ladder in the middle of the night. I usually left the bathroom light on and the door almost closed so I could see a little. Next time I would bring a little night light.

Thanks for all your great reviews etc.

djklove: thanks for the great website. I will definitely check it out.

I would have answered everyone separately but tonight there is a problem with their data base or something and not everything is going through.

Thanks! Once again Cruise critic members come thru. Awesome

Hi Lynda, we are also booked for Aug, 2005. We will have a 15 and 16 yr girls by then. They are really excited, and we booked also on the riviera deck. I hope this is a good location, but how I look at it I will be on a ship, so anywhere we are is good!
