Infinity 8185 (aft) or 6135?

need advice on cabin selection please! we normally enjoy aft cabins but haven't been on M-class yet. we see that CC 6135 or 6143 are port side aft, but appear to have large balconies. 8185 is aft (stern) - are these desirable / nice balconies?

which would you choose - 8185 or 6135?

thanks

We were in 6135 on our last cruise. The balcony is alot bigger, we had 2 loungers with a small table, and 2 regular chairs with a bigger table. Also the room is slightly bigger, however 6135 is a connecting cabin, so you don't have a sofa instead there are 2 wing back chairs.

I was 8185 on the Summit wich is the same stateroom. Very large balcony with 2 chairs 2 loungers, one small table and a large table great for breakfast. The view at the aft is spectacular. I will rebook that cabin right now.

Never had an aft cabin, but just returned on Infinity, Cabin 6135. It is true the balcony is longer (not wider) and there is space for 2 chairs plus 2 lounge chairs and a table. That was nice; however, the balcony was only partially covered (maybe 1/3) and the rest was exposed to all the cabins above and the elements. There was no privacy if that is important to you. Also, since the side panels of the balcony extend out further than a normal shallower balcony, the view of the sea from inside the cabin is narrower. We felt the room was actually smaller than a normal balcony cabin --- didn't measure it but we were just on Constellation 9 months ago in a regular cabin and it felt bigger. The area by the connecting door is definitely tighter -- we did not like the 2 uncomfortable chairs and would have preferred the sofa.

I would say the only plus to this cabin is the longer balcony -- if you are sailing a warm itinerary (we were doing Alaska so didn't do much lounging on the balcony) and plan to eat on the balcony or have parties, it may be worth it. We did not think it was.

We were in 6135 on the Summit last month & loved the cabin! The veranda was fantastic. The location of the cabin right by the aft staircase just above the main restaurant was great. There was a family with young children in the suite that our room as connected to, but we never heard any noise! I wouldn't hesitate to book the cabin!

We have stayed in both cabins - once on Infinity (aft -8183) and once on Summit (6135). You have received some great replies. One thought that has not been shared regards the aft cabin and is a personal preference. The cabin is great - large, roomy, big verandah, etc. However, you cannot see the ocean while you are in bed. One of the things I especially like on a cruise is awakening in the morning and seeing the sea. There is a partial divider between the sleeping area and the "living room" area that blocks your view. We had this cabin on a cruise to Hawaii. The first two days at sea crossing the Pacific were rough - we couldn't even open the balcony door much less go outside. Another personal preference is being able to see where we are going and that would only be possible if you had one of the aft cabins on the end with the wrap around verandah (8166 or 8187). Cabin 6135 is in among the suites and is very quiet yet convenient. The balcony is great - at one time the cabin was a well kept secret. Either way, you'll have a great cabin.
