A Little Nassau FYI

If you're not into the crowds on Bay Street...

and not into taxi's..

Grab the jitney on Bay Street, after you exit the ship and get through the crowds to the beginning of Bay Street.

They go one way.

Take the jitney all around Nassau and see the town.

Ask the driver to let you off at the Rum Factory Store (on Bay Street, before Potter's Cay Bridge), and go get the little rum cakes for Christmas presents or things to take back home.

If you want to hang with the locals and eat the local fare..

get off the jitney at Potter's Cay Bridge. (this is the bridge that takes you over to Atlantis. you can walk from here)

You will see dozens and dozens of brightly coloured shacks that are little restaurants.

go find one and have a seat, drink a couple of beers, talk to the local's and have some scorched conched!!!!

(and take lots and lots of photo's!!)

You can grab the jitney at the Potter's Cay bridge and return to the ship, the long way.. it goes through the town of Nassau.

great chance to see the island, the town, and savor the taste of the scorched conch. ;)

Cabbage Beach, on the island is a nice beach...

There's a ferry that runs out of the harbor over to Atlantis for a nominal fee.

There's lots to do in Nassau if you want to do it on your own...
