Miami to Fort Lauderdale without car rental

I work for an airline. Since I fly standby on a flight, I go for which one offers the most open seats.

I'm sailing out of Fort Lauderdale on October 24th, but flying in on the 23rd.

The thing is the Miami flight has more open seats than for Fort Lauderdale.

If I fly into Miami, is there are shuttle service to Fort Lauderdale that can take me to the Fort Lauderdale airport (my hotel has a shuttle) or to the port and a can take a taxi from there (there are two ships sailing on the 23rd so I guess that there will be people heading to Fort Lauderdale).

Since I really won't know until hours before the flight which one that I will try to fly on, I don't want to commit a credit card hold.

Can anyone help??

Boy oh boy do I remember the days of standby travel :D . From what I've seen, you can probably rent a car cheaper than a taxi. Now if there happens to be seats available on a shuttle (Go Shuttle, Supershuttle, etc) then that could be a bit cheaper. I think you can rent a car for under $30 and maybe even cheaper with an interline discount.
