When I was researching Sea grape beach I had a hard time visualizing where it was in relation to where the cruise ships tender and the rest of the island. So, I am putting together this thread to help others

This website will not allow me to link to the map of 7 Mile beach, but if you google "cayman islands activity guide map" the first result that pops up will give you the maps and you can see that 7 Mile beach is on the left side, just north of Georgetown (where the cruise ships drop you off).

Here is a picture of sea grape beach, showing you the placement of the lounge chairs. This particular day they had two groups of loungers set up. One was dedicated to the people from a Carnival ship that was in port (they had an ship-sponsored excursion to this beach).

Here are two more pictures of the same place on Sea Grape beach and these pictures were simply taken a little further away, showing how you can get away from the crowd and get some free shade if you are willing to walk 40 yards/meters down the beach and lay on a towel beneath the sea grape trees.

If you turn around (so that Sea Grape beach is behind you) and you walk about another 40 meters down the beach, you will come across the Marriott hotel (which is actually located on the other side of the road).

You can even see the taxi drop off point.

Here is the part of the beach that is underneath the sea grapes, and directly across from Courtyard by Marriott. http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii199/snorkelman2000/Grand%20Cayman/?action=view&current=Cruise2008147.jpg

Here is the Gecko Bar, which is located directly across the street from the Courtyard by Marriott, and about 80 yards down from Sea Grape beach.

Finally, here was the price list for some watersports during the first week of October 2008. http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii199/snorkelman2000/Grand%20Cayman/?action=view&current=Cruise2008148.jpg

We were also told that we could do the banana boat ride for 15 minutes for $15. Also the wave runners cost $65 for 30 minutes. Not THAT great of a deal if you ask me, but still, it is cheaper than what they charge peak season.

Hmmm I planned to go to seagrape beach,,,but it doesn't look very "tropical",,,lol, which is pretty much the "litmus" test for me as to beach going in the Caribbean,,,

is the water pretty there? In general, I mean,,,I know it varies with weather conditions,,,

thanks for all the great info though :) Holly

My Mom and I will be going on her first cruise Dec. 6th on the Inspiration! Can't wait! I was wondering what time of day those pictures were taken. It doesn't look too busy and I think it will be a great place to chill before heading back to the ship in the afternoon. Especially since the "bar" area looking out to the water is covered for shade! Lovely.
