Question About FLL Post Cruise Options

Help please for our Christmas 2008 cruise. We will be returning on 12/28, but cannot fly back to the west coast until 3 pm on 12/29.

 

We will want to rent a car after disembarking. What options are there for a rental car shuttle pick-up at Port Everglades to the rental car counters at FLL?

 

What would you do for the day on 12/28 and half a day on 12/29 in the Ft Lauderdale/Miami area?

Regarding car rental, I would give Budget a try. I have not used them in the FLL area, but I will be using them in December (the week before you). I am picking up a car at Port Everglades (they said call them after getting off thge cruise and they will pick us up and bring us to the car rental location), and bringing back to FLL airport a few days later. There is no dropoff fee, and the cars appear to be less expensive at the port as opposed to renting at the airport, plus there is no airport taxes associated with this rental.

We went to South Beach for a day pre-cruise. Great people watching! We had planned to go to the Everglades post cruise, but waited until we checked into the hotel to try and book and everything was booked already! It was a Saturday during Spring Break. Lots of fun things to see and do in the area. We really enjoyed our time in FLL.
