violetkuo Posted November 1, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2004 Hello everyone, We are just back from constellation 14 nights cruise, if u guys get any questions, welcome to email me. We arranged private tour in halifax (info@yourcab.ca) and saint john ( freedom tour). They are wonderful with friendly service and the charges were all very reasonable compared to the ship excursions. Also, we hired a private car in sydney (highland.tours@ns.sympatico.ca). We can't wait to plan our next cruise with celebrity.
kidz_rn Posted November 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2004 Hello, We are planning a 7-night New England/Canada cruise next summer on RCCI out of Philadelphia. We have cruised to Eastern Caribbean & Bermuda, but not NE/Canada. We were wondering if the ship sails close to the visible coastline or is she far enough out to sea that the coastline is not in view during transit? Thanks, NJ Cruisers
MelbaToast Posted November 23, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 23, 2004 Hi Kidz, We are cruising July 24 out of Phili on RCCI Enchantment. When are you sailing? I'm glad you asked that question, because I was wondering that too. Also, is Martha's Vineyard or any of the other ports a tender?
kidz_rn Posted November 25, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 25, 2004 Hi Melba Toast!! I answered you on the roll call board last week. Yes !! We are on your ship sailing out of Philly July 24. The prices were high and I hope they drop over the next few months but atleast we don't have to fly. What time is the earliest we can board!! 5pm is sail away. Martha's Vineyard and Bar Harbour are tendered. Very excited!!! Laurie

Thanks, NJ Cruisers For your itinerary (which looks fabulous), the coastline will likely be way off in the distance. The ports you're visiting are super. Enjoy! bdoster Posted December 27, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 27, 2004 I am looking at the Enchantment in September from Boston, any recomendations on Hotels in Boston and excursions in Canada? We sailed the Enchantment in Dec 2002, but she will be all stretched out by this sailing. A great ship & staff. Wonder if the time in the shipyard will she loose most of her regular staff. bluehorizonlover123 Posted January 15, 2005 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2005 We will be on the Enchantment July 31 so we will be entering as you depart. You can sometimes get on the ship as early as noon so it is best to get there around 10:30am and wait in the long lines for pictures, ID checks etc. Then you can enter the ship at around noon, go for lunch and check out the ship. They like to have all the passengers onboard at least 2 hours before it is time to leave.

CindyG Posted April 19, 2005 #10 Share Posted April 19, 2005 We are going back, October 15, to Canada/NE on The Golden Princess for the third time. We love everything about it! Ship--food--entertainment--ports. I'm sure this won"t be the last time. Dolores Please tell me about the Canada New England cruise. My husband wants to go in Sept. this year. We are in our mid 50's and want to an adventuresome tour in at least one port. What can you tell me about tours, sights that are not part of the norm. We love Princess cruises and have been to Alaska and Panama Canal with Princess. This will be about our 20th cruise in 25 yrs. Thanks for listening - fellow cruise lover. DKP1999 Posted April 20, 2005 #11 Share Posted April 20, 2005 CindyG You're asking the wrong one about an adventuresome tour. An idea of an adventure to us is to get off the ship in Halifax, turn to the right, walk the boardwalk and take in the sights on our way to the Casino in town. Very nice walk. We usually do not take the ship's tours but do get taxies to see interesting things at each port. Been there, done that! So now, we just go into town. In Boston you can get a trolley outside of the terminal and get off and on as much as you like. You'll have to check the ship tours to see just what is there. Hope you find something to your liking. Sorry I couldn't help more. Dolores
SJNB Posted April 21, 2005 #12 Share Posted April 21, 2005 This Link will take you to an adventuresome tour that is offered in Saint John, New Brunswick. http://www.jetboatrides.com/ http://www.jetboatrides.com/Movie/VideoEng.htm The JET BOAT tours and rides are a unique opportunity to feel and appreciate the power with which the Saint John River meets the famous tides of the Bay of Fundy. Host Kewlguy Posted May 27, 2005 #13 Share Posted May 27, 2005 Rent a car and do the excursions yourself. Very simple to get around.
Jordan Posted July 26, 2005 #14 Share Posted July 26, 2005 I will always rely on infomation I did received from others who have done the tours before. The trip to Peggy`s Cove and area is just so beautiful that driving a rented car might save you few pennies, but then you will miss the really sites and sound not to talk of hidden areas that one will not know if they are not from that area. I will suggest you always contact a local tour guide, they tend to know what is worth seeing/doing and most charge reasonable fares to make ends meet. log on www.halifaxinfo.com and pick a tour guide that seems well recommended by others.
