Has Anyone Out There Stayed In Ncl Spirit Ab 10001

We have this suite booked for this December. Has anyone out there stayed in this cabin who can tell us about it? We are thinking we made a mistake. Can you really hear your neighbors through thin walls? Can you really see in the cabin next door through a crack in the wall? Is the door to the balcony really that hard to open? Is the balcony utilizable when the ship is moving? Is it so rocky up front that you roll out of bed at night? Please tell us something good about this suite so that we can look forward to a great cruise? There aren't any other suites left to book for this cruise date.

We have been in 10002 twice which is next door. Yes you can hear through the wall - conversations as well as the television. We were unable to use the balcony when the ship is moving as it is too windy. Suite 10002 also has a side balcony so that was ok. The suites are truly beautiful but for the $$ the next two times we were on the Spirit we chose to go with the ac suites.

We did stay in this suite and found it to be lovely. (2 years ago)

The bathroom alone is to die for. We did not hear our neighbours - but then they weren't loud. We did not see through to the other cabin - there is a sliding door (wall) that connects the suites that can be opened so if you see a gap call your butler and have the door properly closed.

Door to the balcony is a beggar to open - DH had to do it for me - it is an airtight door (like in a submarine) if you keep the entrance door to the balcony door shut while opening you won't have a problem - it does cause quite a windtunnel if you don't (just ask your butler to explain it to you)

We did use the balcony while under sail - love the wind in the face. :D

If the weather is a bit nasty - then I wouldn't recommend it.

We never rolled out of bed onto the floor - but it did get pretty rocky one night (bad weather) but then the whole ship was rocking - didn't bother us - as a matter of fact it was like an adventure. ;) The seas were extremely rough that evening so as long as you have good weather you should be fine.

It's a beautiful suite - I really liked the door between the dining/sitting area and the bedroom area. A lot nicer than a curtain. IMO

The shower (huge) and jacuzzi were fantastic.

I'm sure you'll find much more to be happy about than to fear. Enjoy the Spirit.

One problem we did have was when we entered the suite there was a distinct "sewer" odor. The bulter had it taken care of it immediately - never bothered us again.

Just remember that if you have a problem or questions don't be afraid to ask - it's far better to have things resolved while you are on the ship than trying to deal with it later. Enjoy the suite life. We did ;)

Thanks so much VoyageVirgin for easing our fears. Your positive message is just what I was hoping for. We will pack some earplugs just in case our neighbors are not as quiet as yours were. We've actually had that sewer smell before on other cruises when we first entered our cabin and have found it went away if we flushed the toilet a few times. I think it is accumulated or pent up sewer gas that must be flushed out of the pipes.
