B&J1 Posted October 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2008 We r trying to keep our Alaska budget under control...lol...is that possible? One of those ways is staying at some reasonable B&B's and a hostel. Would appriciate any feed back on any of these places......Haven't booked these yet but am leaning towards them. Have u stayed at any? :) Anchorage: Artic Fox Inn Talkeetna: Grace and Bill's Freedom Hills B&B Denali: Denali Mountain Morning Hostel (private cabin) Seward: Soo's B&B or Ballaine House B&B thx :) brian

It was affordable; clean and Soo made a very nice breakfast. I will say we stayed at other B&B's with more character; but for the price it was perfect! It's convenient to the small boat harbor and since it's close to town w/o a car is no problem. Taxi's are very reasonable and a great wey to get around town if you're not into walking! Oh bye the way, an affordable place to stay in Talkeetna is the Swiss Alaska Inn. It's a nice place; and a short walk thru the woods into Talkeetna. They will also pick you up at the train station if you don't have a rental. Hope this helps!
kenish Posted October 26, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2008 We stayed at the Arctic Fox on 2 non-consecutive nights. I recommend them highly. The owners are very friendly and make sure you have a good time in ANC. The property is on the edge of downtown, only 3 blocks from the Weekend Market and the downtown Avis office. I submitted a review on www.tripadvisor.com under the same screen name.
