tgfv29 Posted October 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2008 Has anyone ever been to Emerald Beach? We will be in St Thomas in early December on Carnival Freedom and want a good beach to visit for the day. We don't snorkel and will have our 11 year old daughter with us. Kerry&LuAnn Posted October 26, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2008 We've been there twice and love this beach. It's located at a Best Western hotel, about 5 minutes by taxi from Crown Bay pier. Nice sandy beach. Gentle.
The Islander Posted October 28, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 28, 2008 Its a very nice beach, shore is sandy, water is usually very calm and clear. Chairs available for rent, so are umbrellas and some non-motorized watersports. A few resturants/bars, restrooms. You can walk to the end of the beach, right side when facing the water and up to the small playground - there are usually a lot of iguanas along the rocks and in the grassy area. Your daughter might get a kick out of seeing the iguanas. You can check a beach for St. Thomas for more information: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=st.+thomas+beach+guide&fr=yfp-t-501&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8. --Islander
