Hello to all,

We are looking at cruising next Sept. on the Summit in Alaska. Leaving from Seattle ending in San Diego, northern most point will be Hubbard. Anyone with weather info from this year would be of great help in our final decision.

Thanks,

We went last Sept and the weather was a little cool, 1 day of light rain in Sitka but the colors were terrific. Can I suggest to you to go the Ports of Call board. They are constantly asking about weather there. Just keeping looking everyday or ask the question there. There are a few people who live in Alaska and can really tell you. Hope this helps.

Hi,

We've done the Celebrity cruise in Alaska in September, 2nd to the last sailing for the season for Celebrity. We found it an excellent time to travel. The weather was moderate, but each year is different. The only day it was a bit too cool for us was the day in Glacier Bay Nat'l Park. Most days were partly to mostly sunny, high temps to upper 60s. But, we live in the PNW so are used to fall weather. ;)

Another advantage to late season Alaska is that crowds have begun to thin out and end-of-season pricing is showing up in the onshore shopping. With a repositioning cruise down the coast, you will probably also get discounts in Alaska merchandise aboard ship.

Have a great time! Alaska is spectacular.

thanks for your help I will check out the Alaska ports for more opinions. The end of season with less crowds and ships is what appeals to us along with 14 days of relaxation, the ports in Alaska are not large and I feel they have become overburdened with so many ships on a weekly basis.

We returned recently (1o/1/04) from a repositioning cruise - Vancouver through Alaska and down to San Diego - the cruise was great but for the Alaska portion. Temps were generally in the 50s with a light rain falling most of the time.
