Isla de Providencia is very seldom visited by cruise ships, and the small ones that do call need to anchor off the island (1.5 nautical miles out). But this is an island that is absolutely fabulous, precisely because it is pretty much untouched by mass tourism, and it is English-speaking (although a Colombian island). The options are snorkeling and diving, boat rides to Crab Cay and other nearby rocks, trecking (particularly up to the Peak, the 1000-ft peak that dominates the small island), and riding around on rented scooters (the circuit of the island takes about 1 hour.)
